According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2002:

  1. Texas: 24,900
  2. California: 23,200
  3. Illinois: 13,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2002:

  1. Georgia: -1,100
  2. Hawaii: 0
  3. Vermont: 200
