According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2002:

  1. Hawaii: 600
  2. Delaware: -1,400
  3. Rhode Island: -3,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2002:

  1. California: -111,500
  2. Texas: -69,400
  3. Michigan: -54,700
