According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2002:

  1. New York: 16,100
  2. California: 12,400
  3. Texas: 9,800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2002:

  1. North Carolina: -3,200
  2. Florida: -1,400
  3. South Dakota: -100
