According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2003:

  1. New York: 7,600
  2. New Jersey: 5,800
  3. Virginia: 5,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2003:

  1. Florida: -69,800
  2. North Carolina: -27,800
  3. Texas: -25,500
