According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2004:

  1. Louisiana: 900
  2. Delaware: 300
  3. Alabama: 0

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2004:

  1. New York: -34,800
