According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2004:

  1. New Jersey: 4,700
  2. Virginia: 3,400
  3. Massachusetts: 3,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2004:

  1. Florida: -63,700
  2. Texas: -29,500
  3. North Carolina: -28,100
