According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2005:

  1. New York: 5,800
  2. Minnesota: 3,500
  3. Wisconsin: 1,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2005:

  1. Texas: -7,400
  2. Illinois: -5,100
  3. Michigan: -4,800
