According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2005:

  1. New York: 7,200
  2. New Jersey: 6,200
  3. Virginia: 4,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2005:

  1. Florida: -85,100
  2. North Carolina: -32,600
  3. Arizona: -27,400
