According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2005:

  1. California: 11,700
  2. Illinois: 4,600
  3. Pennsylvania: 3,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2005:

  1. Arizona: -1,900
  2. Louisiana: -800
  3. Wisconsin: -600
