According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2006:

  1. California: 10,600
  2. Wisconsin: 4,700
  3. Michigan: 3,800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2006:

  1. Arizona: -700
  2. Vermont: -200
  3. Texas: -200
