According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2006:

  1. California: 46,300
  2. New York: 36,100
  3. Texas: 22,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2006:

  1. Rhode Island: 0
  2. Hawaii: 0
  3. New Hampshire: 200
