According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2007:

  1. Florida: 88,000
  2. North Carolina: 61,300
  3. Arizona: 25,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2007:

  1. New York: -16,700
  2. California: -12,200
  3. New Jersey: -5,800
