According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2007:

  1. California: 17,400
  2. New York: 10,200
  3. North Carolina: 5,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2007:

  1. Mississippi: -300
  2. Alaska: -300
  3. Montana: 100
