According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2007:

  1. California: 46,600
  2. New York: 37,300
  3. New Jersey: 21,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2007:

  1. Hawaii: 100
  2. Delaware: 300
  3. Arkansas: 600
