According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2009:

  1. New Jersey: 5,100
  2. Minnesota: 4,300
  3. Iowa: 2,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2009:

  1. Florida: -87,700
  2. Arizona: -33,400
  3. Indiana: -24,500
