According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2009:

  1. California: 13,500
  2. New York: 10,600
  3. New Jersey: 6,500

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2009:

  1. Indiana: -1,000
  2. Ohio: -900
  3. Nevada: -500
