According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2010:

  1. Minnesota: 1,500
  2. North Dakota: 500
  3. New Mexico: 300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2010:

  1. California: -17,800
  2. Illinois: -5,400
  3. Ohio: -4,400
