According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2010:

  1. New York: 20,300
  2. Illinois: 14,200
  3. California: 11,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2010:

  1. Massachusetts: -2,800
  2. Hawaii: -200
  3. Delaware: -200
