According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2011:
- Hawaii: 200
- Delaware: -1,200
- Florida: -3,600
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in July, 2011:
- California: -154,100
- North Carolina: -74,800
- Michigan: -45,500
