According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2011:

  1. New Jersey: 4,600
  2. Iowa: 3,100
  3. Massachusetts: 2,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2011:

  1. Florida: -83,900
  2. Arizona: -39,600
  3. North Carolina: -25,200
