According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2011:

  1. California: 19,200
  2. Maryland: 3,600
  3. Indiana: 3,300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2011:

  1. Florida: -1,400
  2. Arizona: -1,100
  3. Nevada: -800
