According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2011:

  1. California: 17,300
  2. New Jersey: 6,200
  3. New York: 6,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2011:

  1. North Dakota: -300
  2. Alaska: -300
  3. Mississippi: -200
