According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2011:

  1. California: 55,200
  2. New York: 37,600
  3. New Jersey: 20,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in October, 2011:

  1. Hawaii: 0
  2. Delaware: 200
  3. Nevada: 700
