According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2012:
- Delaware: -100
- Hawaii: -200
- New Hampshire: -400
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2012:
- New York: -38,900
- California: -16,100
- Illinois: -15,800
