According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2012:

  1. California: 14,500
  2. Georgia: 4,800
  3. Illinois: 4,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2012:

  1. Louisiana: -400
  2. Florida: -400
  3. Connecticut: -400
