According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2013:
- New Jersey: 7,600
- Massachusetts: 2,100
- Iowa: 1,200
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in June, 2013:
- Florida: -79,000
- North Carolina: -36,900
- Arizona: -33,900
