According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2014:

  1. California: 11,300
  2. New Jersey: 5,900
  3. Ohio: 5,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2014:

  1. Florida: -3,600
  2. Michigan: -2,000
  3. New Mexico: -1,000
