According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2015:
- Florida: 73,900
- North Carolina: 57,500
- Indiana: 36,800
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2015:
- New York: -12,000
- New Jersey: -9,100
- Massachusetts: -6,600
