According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2015:

  1. New York: 26,500
  2. California: 16,100
  3. Illinois: 12,300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2015:

  1. Massachusetts: -1,200
  2. Maine: -200
  3. Hawaii: -100
