According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2015:
- California: 67,100
- Illinois: 34,000
- Massachusetts: 30,800
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in September, 2015:
- Florida: -2,500
- Hawaii: -700
- Delaware: 1,600
