According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2016:

  1. Ohio: 11,700
  2. California: 4,000
  3. New York: 3,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2016:

  1. Massachusetts: -3,400
  2. North Carolina: -3,000
  3. Michigan: -2,500
