According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2016:

  1. California: 21,800
  2. New York: 6,500
  3. Massachusetts: 6,400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2016:

  1. Louisiana: -700
  2. Ohio: -400
  3. Oklahoma: -200
