According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2016:

  1. California: 9,700
  2. Illinois: 6,900
  3. Ohio: 6,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2016:

  1. Arizona: -500
  2. Oklahoma: -300
  3. Delaware: 0
