According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2016:

  1. California: 14,500
  2. Massachusetts: 6,800
  3. New York: 6,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in November, 2016:

  1. Mississippi: -600
  2. Missouri: -300
  3. Kansas: -200
