According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2017:

  1. New York: 22,800
  2. California: 16,100
  3. Illinois: 10,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2017:

  1. Maine: -400
  2. Hawaii: -200
  3. Massachusetts: -100
