According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2018:
- Florida: 75,000
- North Carolina: 50,000
- California: 39,600
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2018:
- New York: -10,200
- Massachusetts: -7,400
- New Jersey: -6,500
