According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2018:

  1. Florida: 75,000
  2. North Carolina: 50,000
  3. California: 39,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2018:

  1. New York: -10,200
  2. Massachusetts: -7,400
  3. New Jersey: -6,500
