According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2018:

  1. Illinois: 11,100
  2. Ohio: 8,100
  3. New York: 8,000

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2018:

  1. Mississippi: 100
  2. Hawaii: 100
  3. Alaska: 200
