According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2019:
- Florida: 74,800
- North Carolina: 52,100
- Indiana: 37,900
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2019:
- New Jersey: -11,200
- New York: -10,300
- Massachusetts: -7,100
