According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2019:

  1. Illinois: 11,500
  2. California: 9,000
  3. Ohio: 7,100

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2019:

  1. New Jersey: -1,700
  2. Hawaii: 100
  3. Delaware: 100
