According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2020:
- North Carolina: 46,600
- California: 38,400
- Florida: 34,700
On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2020:
- Maryland: -3,100
- Ohio: -700
- Delaware: -500
