According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in February, 2020:
- New York: 18,900
- California: 12,800
- Illinois: 8,400

- Maine: -500
- Hawaii: -100
- Delaware: 200
