According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2022:

  1. California: 17,600
  2. Illinois: 4,100
  3. New York: 2,700

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Local Government industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2022:

  1. Louisiana: -1,900
  2. Ohio: -1,400
  3. Arizona: -700
