According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2002:

  1. Iowa: 1,600
  2. Oregon: 1,100
  3. Alabama: 800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2002:

  1. California: -10,400
  2. North Carolina: -6,500
  3. Texas: -6,100
