According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2002:

  1. Indiana: 3,500
  2. California: 3,400
  3. Ohio: 2,200

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in May, 2002:

  1. Texas: -2,000
  2. Pennsylvania: -1,500
  3. North Carolina: -1,500
