According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2003:

  1. California: 2,900
  2. Kentucky: 2,100
  3. Florida: 1,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2003:

  1. New York: -3,600
  2. North Carolina: -1,800
  3. Massachusetts: -1,700
