According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2003:

  1. Alaska: 2,600
  2. Hawaii: -300
  3. North Dakota: -400

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in January, 2003:

  1. California: -31,300
  2. Michigan: -24,000
