According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2004:

  1. California: 8,700
  2. New York: 4,400
  3. Michigan: 3,600

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in March, 2004:

  1. Vermont: -200
  2. Maine: -200
  3. West Virginia: -100
