According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2006:

  1. North Carolina: 5,900
  2. Connecticut: 3,300
  3. Michigan: 3,300

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in April, 2006:

  1. California: -7,400
  2. Oklahoma: -2,600
  3. Florida: -2,200
