According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2006:

  1. Kentucky: 4,800
  2. Texas: 2,600
  3. South Carolina: 1,800

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in December, 2006:

  1. California: -3,500
  2. Alaska: -2,100
  3. Michigan: -1,800
