According to data from the US BLS, the following US states added the highest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2007:

  1. Michigan: 25,600
  2. Ohio: 9,900
  3. Missouri: 3,900

On the other hand, the following states added the lowest number of jobs to the Manufacturing industry (not seasonally adjusted) in August, 2007:

  1. Alaska: -1,600
  2. New Jersey: -1,100
  3. Idaho: -900
